Leveling DoH has always been, “The slower you go – the cheaper and easier it will be”. Since you have many sources of burst exp.
Custom Deliveries – extremely cheap and extremely powerful, but only reset weekly. Use these when you feel like the current tier is a pain!
Loporrit Beast Tribe – Easy, cheap and great EXP. Resets daily.
GC Submissions – daily, and give a gigaton of EXP, far outweighs levequests. Maximize these as long as you can!
Levequests – your “main” source of EXP. Not infinite, but this is considered the “Standard Baseline” of DoH EXP gains. Gotta balance between the EXP of the levequest vs your budget.
Collectables – The “lower end” of EXP gains, but the upside is you can do them infinitely. The EXP per Gil ratio here is by far the worse, but sometimes you gotta do them to get little bits of EXP here and there. Always look out for “bargains”. Typically, the cost of a collectible is its main factor as the EXP different doesn’t really matter since you can spam them.
Grinding – great to just gain EXP and Gil, since you can easily sell levequest items, or other “ingots” (leathers). Great for “afk” play.
Food buff gives 3% EXP, so try to have it on!
Withiout further ado – let’s do this.

CRP L80 Initial Rotations
While the 80 Durability Rotation “needs” to be updated later at 86, (and another recipe is needed for ONLY L89 recipes), the 40 Durability Rotation can be used during the whole leveling process.
Limitation: Do not try to craft “too high compared to your level” with this. +2 Levels should be fine, but why even try… Just stick to the things in your tier. This is a pretty basic TRUE 100% “Mahiko San Tricks” rotation. Meaning, it will never ever land a Poor on Byregot’s.

This one I’m proud of, it’s a TRUE 100% “Mahiko San Tricks” rotation that WORKS ON EVERY ENDWALKER 40 DUR (while leveling up). It accounts for the oddly levelled L85 ALC “ingots” (Moon Gel, Sungold Firesand), and works on pre-86 Groundwork trait.
It has ONE fail case – crafting WAY above your level. So be careful making
Moon Gel 85, when you’re like L81 (but it works at 82)

Horse Chestnut Grinding Wheel (A Real Grind) is the “better levequest”, it needs only 6.5 Leves (HQ) to reach the next tier, CRP L82. As Compared to Horse Chestnut Lumber (Timber of Tenkonto) which needs 8.39 Leves (HQ). 935,000 XP vs. 724,620 XP.
Horse Chestnut Grinding Wheel is obviously best but,
Horse Chestnut Lumber is great on a budget.
Carpenter’s collectable in the L82 tier is Rarefied Palm Bracelet. Needs 11.48 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1232055 EXP at max collectability.
Not notable, just the decent average collectable. Potentially even bad due to 2x Cloth.
CRP L80 tier – what to do
Not much options here yet… A basic leve, a budget leve, and a collectable. Honestly, go with what’s cheapest. The levequest EXP isn’t so different, and the collectable EXP is good.

The difference is minimal! However…
The previous tiers levequests are “better”. Horse Chestnut Grinding Wheel just gives straight up more EXP, at 935k! So unless price is an issue, it’s the better choice. NOTABLY THIS PAIR OF NEW LEVES ONLY USES 3 COMPONENTS.
Carpenter’s collectable in the L82 tier is Rarefied Palm Bracelet. Needs 11.48 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1232055 EXP at max collectability.
Not notable, just the decent average collectable.
CRP L82 tier – what to do
Sadly, the levequest situation didn’t improve here either. You get a pair of “basic” leves that aren’t that great. But, notably each of them only need three components – so they might be a good choice on the budget, while still being VERY competitive with the EXP (850k vs previous tiers 935k)
Nothing stands out here so budget is still your primary concern.

Red Pine Fishing Rod is is the best leve up to this point.
But Red Pine Lumber is the new best budget option if you wanna save.
Red Pine Lumber is the last true “budget” option, so if you wanna grind and spam these to save, that’s an option.
Carpenter’s collectable in the L84 tier is Rarefied Red Pine Spinning Wheel. Needs 11.46 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1417077 EXP at max collectability.
Not notable, just the decent average collectable.
CRP L84 tier – what to do
So here we catch a big break. Ignore every previous levequest as even this tiers “budget” levequest (Red Pine Lumber) is overall “better” than any previous one. Of course, the fishing rod is also vastly more powerful than anything previously and is current your best leve.
The collectable is fine, this may even be the best choice so far too since it only requires metal and wood.

There’s a small update for the rotation at L86! Important, cause the old one can fail to synthesize if doing L86+ recipes.
L86 Rotation Update (80 Durability only)
This rotation is future proof up to L88, and is still TRUE 100% “Mahiko San Tricks” up to that point. It’s also shorter! L86 gives a trait that buffs Groundwork, so we have to use that instead of the double Synthesis going forward.

Ironwood Spear gives GODLY exp!
Ironwood Spinning Wheel is just your “average” leve.
Carpenter’s collectable in the L86 tier is Rarefied Ironwood Grinding Wheel. Needs 11.51 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1629459 EXP at max collectability.
Not notable, just the decent average collectable.
CRP L86 tier – what to do
Wow, 2M base EXP for the Ironwood Spear is attractive. Try to do this one for maximum value. I’m pretty sure any other previous leve isn’t worth it unless youre tight on cash and looking for options.
The collectable in this tier is “ok”, no weird ingredients.

Integral Magitek Rod (Annals of the Empire II) is the “better levequest”, it needs only 4.63 Leves (HQ) to reach the next tier, CRP L90. As Compared to Integral Necklace of Crafting (An Integral Reward) which needs 7.3 Leves (HQ). 2,297,800 XP vs. 1,457,380 XP.
Integral Magitek Rod is the best so far, but might be expensive. Consider previous tiers Ironwood Spear is cost is prohibitive.
Integral Necklace of Crafting is a great “budget” option but still gives godly EXP. It only needs 3 components!
Carpenter’s collectable in the L88 tier is Rarefied Integral Armillae. Needs 11.49 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1853298 EXP at max collectability.
Not notable, just the decent average collectable. I’d even say this seems a little bad, since it has 2x cloths… Honestly I think I should reconsider this aversion to cloth. Endwalker cloth crafting is much easier… Back in the day it was a nightmare…
CRP L88 tier – what to do
Honestly, just choose between the two newest levequests. If they’re too expensive, use the L86 ones. “End of tier” materials can sometimes be pricy so keep an eye out. But of course, the Magitek Rod levequest gives 2.3M base EXP which is TITANIC. Leverage that if you can.
As always with collectables, price is pretty much the only determining factor.

Hey, thanks so much for the guides. Even the older, slightly outdated portions on the crafting guides have helped me speed level tremendously after I followed the MIN and BTN ones.
On this one, I noticed that you were stating a minor update to your 78 – 80 macro but I don’t see the adjustment noted. Was there an error in creating the box?
i’ll check it out but alas, the new update invalidates these… :(
Hey, thanks for the great guide! Quick thing I noticed while leveling Carpenter, the Link to 64-70 is wrong and links to page 7 (70-80) instead of page 6 (64-70). Both at the top and bottom navigation. Might want to look into that :)
fixed! Thanks!
Continue to do the SINGLE Lv. 30 Walnut Macuahuitl leve even after Lv. 35 instead of the TRIPLE leve.
It makes no sense to submit 3x for 20,000 exp instead of 49k for each one, and double that for HQ.
Yeah you’ll have to TP back and forth but that only takes a minute each time.
Went from 30-40 in about a half hour this way.
I just want to point out that from 50-60 some of the best exp you can get is from the moogle daily quests. It cost zero mats as they are provided with the quests and the quests are extremely quick and super easy to complete.
First off love ffxivguild guides , been using for years :) thank you
…i just grind all crafts 1-50 (again lol) and i noticed that all the leves in them set lvls only
offer 3 types now not 5 , i did all 3 types to see if i would get a new leve and nope same 3
may be something to look into ,i did buy some stuff on MB (HQ) just to see i could not get the leve for that item to come about
hmmmm… There should be 3 from the local levemete (area depends on level and class), and another 3 from the hometown (Limsa, Grid or Uldah – depending on class). lemme know if this still confuses you
Dragonstone Grinding Wheel should be Dragonscale Grinding Wheel.
fixed! thanks!
most of this stuff atleast since 4.0 u can buy from vendors and hand in for still very good xp if your struggling to gather or cant hq anyways or just dont have the time :)
For 30-35, Costa del Sol is in La Noscea, not Gridania.
If you paid attention to the guide, you’d notice that the way the list works is that it shows you where to deliver, and where to pick the leve up. It’s listed as Costa del Sol | Gridania because the leve is picked up in Gridania and delivered in Costa del Sol. It would have been pointed out and corrected already if it was a mistake considering how long that’s been relevant, the old content guides weren’t written in 2017.
For the quest turn-ins, you should indicate that you need 3 lengths of birch lumber, otherwise great guide.
I just noticed for the level 50 levequests it says the cedar lumber one takes 5, but it actually takes 3.
when patches get released, sometimes the mats required comes down too
These guides are awesome! Thanks for all the hard work.
You’re very welcome.
The shopping list for 1-15 still isn’t active yet…
after finishing with ARM 50 to 60 (tonight) my next goal is to update all 01-50 DOH and DOL guides.
The shopping list is something I’m really iffy about. I’ll think and look into it as to how it can be made better or if there’s something else I can do about it.
There are many things to consider, but mainly formatting. I’ll try my best.
Rosewood Lumber should be the “grinding” for LVL40+.
25-30 silver spear is now silver battle fork.
wow i never caught wind of this rename! fixing
um for the walnut Macuahuitl, if you hand in the triple exchange leve you only get under 20k exp, where if u hand them in one at a time in costa del sol u get 49k exp for each one you hand in…….
Except that if you’re turning in HQ items, which should be priority when doing leves the Courier caps at 98k(49k x 2 for HQ) per leve while the triple maxes at 117.6k per leve(19.6k x 2 for HQ + option to turn in twice more for a total of ((19.6k x 2) x 3)).
Triple is the better option between the two if you’re mainly concerned about exp per leve. Less travel time as well.
Actually no, the triple really isn’t. In the time it takes to craft NINE items to gain a measly 20k, barely 20% bonus of the ONE item) You could turn in ALL 9 singles. Just set one as favored, one as free. Cost of crystals, effort of mats, everything.. not worth it. I’m low on Leves and I STILL won’t touch triples. I prefer making a quick HQ macro and doing all 9 turn ins within 5min.
Exp per leve, maybe. But 20% more exp for up to 9x the cost. (3×3 items Vs 1 Item)
This guide (and most on this site) are horribly outdated since the nerfing of triple turn-ins and the buffing of single/couriers.
I have to agree with this. The level 30 leve for the Walnut Macuahuitl is the way to go. 98000 xp for 1 HQ item beats 117600 for 9 of the same HQ item. It may cost you leves, but it’s well worth for time and money you’ll save from having to craft less.
Also, to make the trip easier, go ahead and make Costa del Sol and New Gridania favored destinations. It’ll cut down on the teleporting costs, which comes out to over 1000 gil per round trip without favored destination.
Depends if you are trying to power level several crafts in a short amount of time, without factoring in grinding which takes forever. You will burn through roughly 60 Leves using HQ items. Triples saves you several days of waiting for allowances.
Having tried this last night, the level 30 single turn in will carry you all the way to 50. It is nuts!
The triple, on the other hand, requires vastly more effort and resources for marginal benefit.
That’s certainly one way, albeit less leve efficient. lol.
it says “updating your cooking gear” i think it should say carpenter there.
you forgot about the list
