Well whale wail, you have arrived in the Shadowbringers Weaver tier, ey? – it’s time to get to L80 quick!

L70 to L80 DoH Beast Tribe quests: Dwarf

5.3 introduced the Dwarf Beast Tribe, which is a very welcome form of “free and easy” EXP, while getting some cool cosmetic items to boot.

Unlocking Dwarf Beast Tribe

Here’s some basics on how to unlock Dwarf Beast Tribe.

  • Location: Lakeland (9, 13)
  • Quest Name: It’s Dwarfin’ Time
  • NPC: Affable Townsdwarf
  • L70+ Disciple of the Hand

Other unlocking requirements pretty much sum up to “the blue dwarf quests in this area”. Formally, it requires “Ronitt to the Rescue”, which requires “Wright for the Job” and “Learning to Lali-Ho”, and so on. If you can’t see the quest, then knock out the blue quests around the area.

I place this Beast Tribe reminder very far up this guide not only because it’s a mid-patch addition, but also because it’s such a help to push past the dreaded “Dead Zone”. It remains a great source of EXP at any point until you that to hit L80!

Weaver L70 to L71 – The Deadzone

The first level of any new tier is a little brutal – and hard for me to account for since everyone has different stats coming in. The deadzone is caused by having subpar gear, and how it affects your possible activities to get past it. Fixing up your gear – getting Scrip gear – should be your highest priority at L70, as it will help ALL YOUR CRAFTERS push past the deadzone, and this gear is GOOD UNTIL LEVEL 80!

Suit up - Get Scrip gear ASAP

As mentioned above. It is SUPER VALUE to get this gear as it’s useful to you up until leveling to 80, and usable by all classes. Do Custom Deliveries to get scrip!

L70 to 71 Deadzone Rotation 80 Durability

This rotation needs 365 CP – buy Handking accessories (or any cheap ones) and/or food buffs to reach that. It’s meant to accomodate all sorts of people entering the SHB tier (with likely lower CP). Feel free to upgrade this rotation if you have more stats.

Rotation Notes

As you can see, the amount of synthesis you need here is brutal – the debuff for trying L71 as L70 is huge. It’s called the deadzone for a reason.

Also, these contain the anti-poor RNG Tricks of the Trade – which prevents your Byregot from landing on poor at all times.

The rotations are somewhat long, 2-button, and not even 100% – but that’s the nature of the deadzone for you! Let’s get out of it ASAP!

TLDR: Updating your gear is key to getting out of the deadzone, and when you do – you can use this rotation to help push out of it.

Beating the Deadzone: Sources of EXP

Here we outline the practical (or hopefully practical) sources of EXP to help muscle through this tough stretch. While many of these do not require the scrip gear mentioned above (Custom Deliveries, and easier tier GC Submissions), they will certainly help with some other activities (IE Grinding, making your own levequest items).

CUSTOM DELIVERIES!!!

Custom Deliveries

Ok, this is valuetown right here and one of the prime methods to get out of the deadzone – BUT IT RESETS WEEKLY, so choose wisely. Personally, I didn’t use this on any class above 71 until all were 71 or more. You also get large amounts of scrip to update your gear with!

5.3 update: Ehll Tou from The Firmament joins Kai Shirr from Eulmore, as both the L70+ ShB Custom Delivery clients, so they’re your best option for maximum rewards at this point. Try to use all your allowances between them if you’re leveling 70 to 80.

You have 12 deliveries a week spread between:

  • Kai Shirr in Eulmore
  • Ehll Tou in The Firmament
  • Zhloe Alpaioh and Adkiragh in Idyllshire
  • Mnaago in Rhalgr’s Reach
  • Kurenai in Ruby Sea

Note that these 12 allowances are shared between ALL DOH/DOL classes.

Daily GC Submission

From here, and into the untold ages to come, the daily GC submission is VALUE. It’s, on average, worth more than the usual levequest. The starred entries are too massive to even describe.

Even if you can’t make these yourselves, check the MB for deals, or buy them straight up NQ from NPC’s if you’re desperate.

To check these, click CTRL+U (default) > Next Mission Allowance.

Levequests!?

Levequests are, of course, the main method of EXP gain as always – If you upgraded your gear, and use the rotation above (IDEALLY WITH 1 HQ MATERIAL TO PUSH FOR 100%) you can pretty reliably make them yourself.

One trick is to grind on 40 Durability “ingots”, and
use the HQ’s for your 80 Durability crafts!

If you’re lazy or don’t have the gear – you’re either forced to buy from the MB or NPC’s. This feels really bad, and if you’re on a budget this is not the way to go. Hopefully, you find some good deals!

If you CAN make the stuff, then the deadzone ain’t so dead after all

Grinding

Use Revised Engineering Manuals!

Can be pretty okay, honestly! You don’t need to hit HQ! Just get the best quality you can on any “ingot type” craft, for future use on levequest items or your stockpile.

In the case of Weaver L70, you can try out Bright Linen Yarn & Bright Linen Cloth.

One trick is to grind on 40 Durability “ingots”, and
use the HQ’s for your 80 Durability crafts!

And, finally, one more source of EXP worth mentioning in its own segment…

Unlock Crystarium Deliveries “Class Quests”

This is a new thing (not to be confused with Custom Deliveries), that acts like a shared class quest between certain classes. In the case of Weaver, that’s shared with Leatherworker and Carpenter in the “Facet of Crafting“.

UnlockingHow does it Work?

It’s a 2 quest process to unlock this.

  • 1st Quest: The Crystalline Mean (L70) – Area: The Crystarium
  • Requires: MSQ “The Crystarium’s Resolve (L72)”.
  • 2nd Quest: Cherished Memories (L70) – Area: The Crystarium
  • Requires: The Crystalline Mean (the 1st quest listed above)

You can submit SIX ITEMS PER TIER PER FACET – shared between your facetmates. So try to save them up to burst through shitty tiers.

After six submissions your esteem goes up, and they’re gonna ask for a new set of six items at L73, 75, and 78.

In the case of Weaver 70, I’d suggest simply splitting it up between the shared classes, meaning 2/3 each for Carpenter and Leatherworker.

Weaver L70 Levequests

I’ll put the levequest table here, but I’ll repeat it in the next segment with complete discussion (I’ll put a basic recommendation here) – since not all L70 crafters will be able to reliably make it themselves…

Weaver 70 Levequests

Again, discussion for these is in the next major segment, L71.

Hopefully the Deadzone wont stress you out too much. There’s quite a few ways to push past it, but it definitely is one of the more difficult parts of leveling in a new tier, Shadowbringers to L80 is no exception.

Weaver L71 to 72

A lot goes on in this level so bear with me even if it’s a bit lengthy. A majority of your setup ALL THE WAY UNTIL L80 Weaver happens here so it’s worth it. Most noteworthy are  stat-check or gear update, and a new rotation that works very well until L80!

Weaver L71 GEAR UPDATE

This gear update is similar to the L70 one. You need to get all the L70 Scrip armor, and as many accessories as you need to reach the CP requirements (370~).

Scrip Gear

This is merely a copy of the L70 gear update. If you didn’t update or incompletely updated your gear at L70, then you MUST do it now. Of course, if you have any gear that beats this – go for that instead.

Mainhand and Body are MANDATORY – the rest can be substituted for L71 crafted if you like (more notes in the next tab)

No Scrip for Scrip Gear?

Then simply substitute any crafted L71 gear in their place. Generally speaking not all pieces are equal – you definitely prefer scrip in some places. Some pieces have better crafted (accessories) but are largely unnecessary. Consider these only if you’re short on scrip.

TLDR: Only get and meld crafted L71 gear IF YOU HAVE NO SCRIP,
Or rather spend GIL instead of scrip.

WVR L71 ROTATION UPDATE: 80 DURABILITY

The “L71 Mahiko San Synthesis: God’s Touch ™ – 80 Durability” is a ONE BUTTON macro (so it’s thankfully short), while being ABSOLUTE TRUE 100% (baits poor procs with Tricks of the Trade) while also being BUFFLESS.

Weaver L70 Levequest Discussion

Bright Linen Yarn: is a PDO leve (Poor, Desperate, or Overcapped on leves). While not leve-efficient by any means, it is extremely CHEAP and QUICK. While not always recommended, these do serve a purpose.

Brightlinen Turban of Crafting: is not bad as single leves go. 2 Cloths and a Yarn (+ a GSM Nugget) is OK. Simply defaulting to spamming this leve isn’t the end of the world – especially if your leves are not STRAINED.

Brightlinen Bottoms of Striking: This one is a little weird. 3 Cloths is pretty rough. 3 Old World items are very RANDOM factor when making this.  The price of those 3 old world materials could make or break the value of this leve. If you’re strained on leves – you might wanna use this (if you’re in a rush).

TLDR: Bright Linen Yarns if PDO > Brightlinen Bottoms of Striking if price is good > Brightlinen Turban of Crafting if not.

What to do in this tier?

Start off by making a bunch of Bright Linen Yarn – they have many uses. You’re gonna need some anyway to craft your own gear upgrades, if you so choose.

Lots of options. None particularly great. If you’re PDO, Bright Linen Yarn is an option for leves.

The best leve this tier is very price dependent… I cannot give a blanket recommendation, since the price on that triple leve can really vary… If it’s CLOSE, go for the triple of course.

Honestly, GRINDING FUTURE YARNS/CLOTHS IN ADVANCE is also legit,  manually crafting will give a lot of EXP. Also, next tiers triple is a lot better than this ones, so stocking up on Iridescent Silk Yarn or Cloth is a good idea. Pixie Floss is also a PDO leve…

Weaver 72 Levequest Discussion

Iridescent Acton of Aiming & Iridescent Bottoms of Scouting: both of these single leves are very similar in materials… the extra silk on the bottoms is rough, but the acton has an extra leather and electrum ingot. If you’re in the market for singles, I’m willing to bet the Acton of Aiming is cheaper ON AVERAGE. However…

Iridescent Hat of Healing: seems to be the best triple leve SO FAR. Not just in this tier. The relative cheapness (although a bit less EXP) of this leve makes it the clear choice this tier.

L73 Rotation Upgrade (40 & 80 DUR)

These rotations are TECHNICALLY optional. But they are SHORTER – saves time.  More importantly completes virtually any item 100% HQ until leveling to 80 (read notes for specifics). There’s no point to hold off upgrading rotation now… It’s also rated for higher L76 / L78 items.

Pixie Floss: Good ‘ol PDO leve. If you’re Poor, Desperate, or Overcapped – this is your friend.

Pixie Cotton Hat of Striking: That’s a lot of materials, man… Even if the 2 Old World materials end up cheap, I’m not banking on this outrunning the triple leve –

Pixie Cotton Sleeves of Crafting: Not an amazing leve, but decent. This probably takes over as “best triple ever”, even if it’s slightly more expensive than the previous tiers.

TLDR: Pixie Floss if PDO > Pixie Cotton Sleeves of Crafting

What to do in this tier?

Start the party by making a bunch of Pixie Floss, and converting them to cloth as you need to submit Pixie Cotton Sleeves of Crafting (triple leve). If you want to continue with the previous tiers triple – it’s not bad either.

Weaver 76 Levequest Discussion

Ovim Wool Muffed Met of Casting: Is not so bad… Not a very notable single leve and is as basic as they go. Ramie Thread and Manzasiri Hair can be cheap, so this is SEMI-PDO leve…

Ovim Wool Tunic of Aiming: Has a very specific upside… “maximum EXP per submission”. Honestly, even if this one gives a little less than the triple overall – I’m willing to say this is the best levequest so far.  Over 11 million exp for a single item is absurd.

Ovim Wool Turban of Gathering is a little meh. If you have the mats, budget and are tight on leves, sure… But this isn’t so much better than the previous tiers triple!

TLDR: Tunic > Turban (or previous tiers triple) > Muffed Met

What to do in this tier?

As usual, make Ovim Wool yarns and prepare to convert into cloths. Either you continue with the older leves, or straight up submit Ovim Wool Tunic of Aiming. I wouldn’t bother with the other leves in this tier.

The Tunic of Aiming levequest just give so much damn EXP per item, that I would only consider the triple (of which is not so big of an upgrade from the previous tier) if I was absolutely IN A RUSH AND HAVE NO LEVES LEFT. A situation I can imagine some people being in…

L78 brings another facet and no changes to this storyline: DUMP ALL ON WEAVER.

Weaver 78 Levequest Discussion

There’s some very good options here…

Dwarven Cotton Turban of Scouting: has a chance to be pretty cheap. A basic levequest which isn’t too notable except maybe if you’re budget hunting…

Dwarven Cotton Gaskins of Fending: Continuing the trend from last tier, you have another fat ass “EXP per ITEM” levequest here. The difference isn’t so huge, so it boils down to price. If you like this leve or the previous fat one – I would submit the one which is closer to your budget as the EXP gains aren’t that different.

Dwarven Cotton Petasos of Healing gives 25M~ ish EXP on all HQ submissions. That’s pretty thick. It’s not too expensive too, so this is a very solid option.

What to do in this tier?

The way I see it , you have 2 main options here.

OPTION 1 –DO SINGLES IF YOU’RE HEALTHY ON LEVES: Continue with the previous Ovim Wool Tunic of Aiming leve or this tiers Dwarven Cotton Gaskins of Fending leve. Whichever one is “a lot cheaper” and Dwarven if both are in your budget.

OPTION 2 – DO THE TRIPLE IF YOU’RE TIGHT ON LEVES: Might be a little more expensive, but you’re in a hurry and strapped huh? The triple isn’t even that expensive so it’s a solid option all around.

If you choose any option that requires Dwarven Cotton, then start off by making those threads and convert into cloth as you need ’em.

L80+ Weaver, What next?

Congratulations! Well, that’s it for the Shadowbringers tier. I have yet to decide if I will revive the end-game guides, lets see. But for now enjoy your L80 Carpenter and go level your other classes!!!

  1. This is the Weaver’s leveling guide, but it says “Culinarian Leveling Guide”. I think a copy/pasta type occurred, JSYK.

  2. Greatly appreciated, but has no one noticed the title is CULINARIAN Leveling [sic] Guide?
I thought my search engine had a bug! ;)

  3. Spent too long trying to figure out what PDO stands for. Once I found the only other plausible reference via Google, I couldn’t believe that I had just wasted the time. For anyone wondering, PDO stands for “poor, desperate, or overcapped (this word was created by someone who doesn’t understand English well enough),” but please correct me if I am wrong. Despite this, I appreciate the guides tremendously.
    :)

  4. just a small note, the triple turn in on level 70 leves is “turban in training” not “lovely leggings”,you might want to make an edit :P

  5. [H][R] 3(9)x Woolen Smock: Triples are both sucky.
^ This has been changed and its 1 per instead of 3

It’s actually do-able either purchasing these armor from NPC or crafting yourself.

  6. Is the formatting for the 71-80 Shadowbringers section of Weaver a complete mess for anyone else?

None of the drop down sections with the + mark work (‘I’m desperate: yellow scrip gear?’ and ‘Cross-class skills’ for example) and the some of the mini sections with grey backgrounds seem empty, like the ‘Macro 1 Macro 2 Success Rates’ part. I’ve tried this site in multiple browsers and they all have the same problem, but the rest of the guide from 1-70 and the other jobs’ guides are fine.

  7. Good guides as always. The only suggestion I would throw out there for folks when they first hit 70 is to use the level 70 scrip (350) gear to start off. The gear is cheap enough and the custom deliveries will provide all of the scrips you could need for purchasing the gear. The stats are quite as good as the crafted gear listed in the guide, but close enough for a cheaper alternative (imho).

    1. This is correct! The yellow scrip gear has its own section, but I should make the point more “known”. I recommend the left-side and weapon if you can afford it.

  8. Hallu, thanks for the guide on Weaver. I just hit 55 on my Weaver and got the biggest value collectable. Ramie Cloth, which is easy af to craft. Basically as easy to collect as Birch Syrup for Culinarian. So yeah, there IS a good weaver collectable unexpectedly.

  9. Weaver Level 20 to 25

[L][R] 3(9)x Cotton Coif of Gathering: Highly recommended.
Do not recommend :( i just made 20 only to discover that the triple now only gives 5Kish exp where the singles give around 12-13K

  10. One thing that can salvage weaver is doing the Moogle beast tribe quests daily, they give roughly a half a level worth of exp at level 52 when you do all 3 plus it unlocks that beast tribe vendor.

  11. Heya,

nice guide, if I may say so, helped me alot :)

Just wanted to mention this, in the rotation-macro for the 40DUR Rotation, use:
    /ac “Master’s Mend”

It makes the rotation smoother, I know, is too short, but 3 is too long, 2.5 fits in perfectly and feels “better” to see it xD. It’s just a minor thing and not a “must”, but it has a better flow :)

  12. I have a couple of newbish questions and hopefully someone can answer them for me :D

    1. Why not use Waste Not II in the rotation instead of using Waste Not I? I mean I think I see why you use it and if its because you get more out of it then waste not II then ignore my question haha

    2. Also on your melds, I see cheap meld 1 and cheap meld 2. Is that meant for to be picked on wether you want cheap meld 1 or cheap meld 2 or is that what both sockets should be used for? I hope I was clear on that question. So if I used the first socket for cheap meld 1 would I use the next socket for cheap meld 2? If there isnt a socket then I should overmeld it? Just want to make sure I wasn’t over thinking this at all. Which I usually do!!

Thanks for an awesome site and great guides :D

    1. Waste not II isn’t bad, it’s just much easier to make a more flexible rotation with WN1. Cheapmeld 1 and 2 is for sockets! And yes if there isn’t a socket overmeld it. Remember to use frumenty for the +10cp while leveling to help reach the CP caps.

  13. What do the numbers in “Best?” mean? I can’t find anywhere what your model of reference is, so I don’t know which is the best option for each tier, if 3 or 1.

      1. On the 64 – 70 Section when you’re talking about the optional 64 rotation, there is still a mistake referring to WVR (not having the name of lightening skill) instead of ARM i am assuming.

        1. If you’re referring to the cross-class section, I admittedly have to choose ONE of the elements… but yes name/brands are interchangeable and I’ll have a look at what you’re sayin

          1. He’s reffering to the [Optional rotation Lv64 4oDUR]:

“THIS CERTAIN “MACRO” HAS NAME AND BRAND OF FIRE. PLEASE ADJUST IT TO YOUR CLASS. CUL AND WVR HAVE NO BRAND OR NAME SKILL SO CROSS CLASS ANY ONE OF ‘EM.”

Which is not true, WVR has brand/name of lightning, I think you mean GSM has none (and CUL).

And thanks for all the effort you put into this wonderful guide, I’ve been using it a lot!

  14. hey, i think most (if not all) of the shopping list items for the beginning of this guide can be bought from the generic material suppliers found in housing districts
so if your FC has a house with one of those merchants that might be a more convenient place to shop than running around between 3 npcs

  15. I managed to level from 56 to 60 in about 6 hours by handing in collectible ramie cloths. Perhaps not the fastest way but buying stalks of ramie and collecting my own flax only cost me about 60-70k to get those last 4 levels. Whilst using engineering manual II’s and food buffs.

      1. It’s in a newer patch. It only gives 10 blue scrip and 110k exp. But if you compare the prices of some of the leve items and mats, it’s a great value. Not sure if it’s Ramie Cloth all the time, but I can let you know!

  16. I’m not seeing a gear update still? That would be very helpful, I’m pretty (totally goddamn) lost when it comes to melds, I never had a 50 crafter pre-3.0, and my wvr is now 56 and still rocking a few 50 equips.

  17. I’m not sure if it’s fastest, but I found it really easy between 56-58 to spam the collectable for ramie cloth. Not only are the mats easily obtainable, it also gives scrips to start you off (to get the WVR masterbook for 58-60). Crawler silk is just too expensive on my server

  18. I followed all the steps to level Weaving from 1-15 and all it BARELY got me to level 14. I have no clue where you guys got this idea of your method getting someone to 15 LET ALONE 15++. Not only did I follow every step (including the scroll), but i also used an EXP helm from 1-11 and i ate and orange for another 3% EXP and still I was only able to just hit 14.

  19. I’m confused why you would go Holy Rainbow Apron for your 52-54 option? It requires 1 less Cloth and 1 less Wyvern leather, sure, but you have to make two of them for the hand in, and have to submit twice to get the same XP as the Holy Rainbow Sarouel of Casting, meaning 4 aprons (8 cloth 4 thread) vs 1 sarouel (3 cloth, 1 thread, 1 leather) for the same xp. Unless wyvern leather is prohibitively expensive and difficult to get for you, I can’t see why this would be the better option.

  20. In the tier 56 to 58 the hallowed ramie sash of casting is quite good on my server, because you get them from a npc quite cheap (11k Gil)
The mats for crawler silk and crawler silk itself is far too expensive (mats: 18k gil for 1!, Crawler Silk: 22k)

  21. The Ixal Deliverance quest is also a good thing to do daily. The quest itself doesn’t give much exp, but HQ item turn-ins do.

  22. I prefer to do the Leve “Felt for the Fallen” from 58 to 60. 198,778 exp for 3 Chimerical Felt. It will take 20 leve allowances and a total of 60 normal quality Chimerical Felt to go from level 59 to 60. A little less than double that for 58 to 60. I hate farming Deepeye Tears (I find the other mats trivial for the dissolvents) which is why I choose the leve over crafting any type of gear (collectable or not).

To help those who choice to do the healer or caster corsets: Mogpoms are 100% catch in the Greensward of Churning Mist (8,34) with Goblin Jig. (used in making Intellect Dissolvent). Flying is required to reach here. and you need to be 58FSH to use the Jig. Blue Cloud Coral is caught in “Cloudtop” fishing hole in Sea of Clouds (15,38). Level 51 Fishing, use a Red Balloon, turn on SNAGGING!!!

  23. Just gotta add. Since latest patch. Handing in 3 HQ items 3 Times only gives 100% bonus EXP. Courier quests are by far the faster (And cheaper) way of leveling now.

    1. 100% is truth across ALL leve types now. However, courier becomes extremely painful in the level 35+ range (no aetheryte)

  24. [C]ourier Leves: Levemete is from the [H]ometown, to be submitted to the [L]ocal Levemete. I’m confused on what that means. Read info below.

    Level 40 WVR Leves [L]ocation: Coerthas (Whitebrim) | Ul’dah
Level 40 Weaver Leves Items Discussion:

    [H][3] Linen Deerstalker

Where do I go to obtain that leve? I don’t see it in Whitebrim.

    1. Every tier has ONE levequest which ORIGINATE from (lets say in weavers example) Ul’dah, and is submitted to the level-specific levemete in another town. For example, Level 45 courier quests would take you from Uldah to St. Coincachs.

  25. For the first part you tell us the shopping list but don’t tell us what to make with it…what am I suppose to craft with those items?

    1. Below is a list of items needed to complete your crafting log from L1: Hempen Yarn – L15: Cotton Shepherd Slops.

      It’s above the list

  26. Just used this 1st part of the guide in patch 2.2 and I was already lvl 7, with the boos. After I finished wasn’t even close to lvl 15 :( about 13 and a half.. don’t think I did anything wrong. did I miss something?

    1. Nothing wrong. I just think this guide is out of date, or forgetting to mention something.

I found that increasing the quality of an item gave extra xp, so it’s something I did as soon as I could, but I still fell short of 15. I’m just QSing cotton yarn for the remaining level I’m missing.

        1. Dunno about earlier posters, but I just finished 1-15 craft logs and even did the first two crafts in the 15-20 log, all while using the GC Engineering Scroll, and making sure to go for as much HQ as I can on each and every craft… and it got me halfway through level 14.
Something is definitely up with the guide. =/

  27. Just noticed a typo – Quarrymill is in South Shroud and Costa del Sol is in Eastern La Nocsea. :)

    1. hmmm.. not a typo! It means there are [L]ocal leves in Quarrymill and Costa, and the [H]ome leves from Ul’dah are still available!

  28. Fleece only costs 41 gill each on my server now (about the same amount as the flax I bought when I was still leveling weaving a few months ago), thanks to overfarming and bots, so I guess weaving just became easier on my server, at least.

    1. Yes, fleece and diremite webs price have dropped since this writing! Is it a permanent thing? Something due to bots offloading for housing gil? I’ll wait a few days before i adjust this guide for that anomaly! :D

  29. In the 35-40 tier, I would say that the single turn in for Linen Cowl is cheaper than the triple Linen Tights. Sure the cowl is 4 cloth, but 3 Tights is 6 cloth. Also factor in that the Cowl is 40kish exps, vs. 23kish exps and really, the only thing you are saving by doing the triple turn in is leve allowances. if you have plenty of allowances saved up, then the Cowl is far more efficient.

    1. Because if you turn in HQ items that triple could give you 136k -ish XP for one leve. For the amount of XP you can get that is the better choice.
