WVR Leveling Guide 64-70

MIN & BTN Leveling Guides updated. Other notes...

Botanist Leveling to 90, as well as Miner Leveling to 90 are updated for the Endwalker tier. Older tiers needs some fixing, although I modernized what I could quickly – I placed the important notes on the top of the aforementioned guides reflecting the major things that you need to take note of.

I will post a personal update soon, for those that are curious…

ShB 5.3 UPDATED! Dwarf Beast Tribe and Ehll Tou

Recent Update Log

5.3 Updates

  • Dwarf Beast Tribe quests added in ShB tier as a notable EXP source.
  • Ehll Tou added as Custom Delivery client option.

Previous updates

  • Kai Shirr added as Custom Delivery client option in ShB tier.
  • L70 to L80 section essentially revamped: New Skills & Rotations! 5.2ish was a clusterF. Skills changed TWICE in a short span of time. All is well now!
  • L70+ Gear recommendation:  Yellow Scrip gear is now recommended, for a number of reasons (Mainly, barely need stats for 70 to 80 leveling)

The grind continues!

I hope you’re familiar with what these are. Muscle is Muscle Memory from CUL, MM and FS are Maker’s Mark and Flawless Synthesis from GSM.

Important Notes:

** CUL and GSM need to cross-class a “Name” and “Brand” of any element.
** All classes except ARM and WVR have access to Reclaim AND Maker’s Mark + Flawless Synthesis.

Since ARM and WVR have to choose between access to “MM+FS” rotations or “Reclaim“, I personally chose “MM+FS” since it’s very unlikely you’ll fail any manual craft with that. Reclaim on the other hand has its uses. Since most rotations require more than 55 CP to complete, you can choose to reclaim if you feel non-HQ is inevitable.

Up to you, buddy…

Reclaim. *snicker*” –
Mahiko Sans Fukkius

L64 Unlocked Patient Touch

Patient Touch is pretty good, huh? Great for RNG gambling rotations. But for now, you can simply replace the first Hasty Touch II of any rotation with Patient Touch.

It’s optional, but a slight improvement IMO. While it increases your odds to fail by a tiny bit, it increases your HQ success chance but quite a huge margin.

WVR 64 Levequest discussion

Alright people listen up. Kudzu Thread is the last bastion of sanity until the end of your Stormblood Weaver leveling life. It is the “Omega Levequest” – all that follow it don’t exist.

It’s the best in this tier and all that follow. It’s CHEAP, it’s a triple, and the price of future leve materials will, almost guaranteed, never compare to this.

WVR 64 to 66: What I did in this tier

Use up your previous leve items and materials to grind whatever you have left into previous tier submissions. Submit them to reach 65 – and upgrade your gear.

Once you’re at 65, let the Kudzu threat process begin. Churn out a lot of these guys… 60 should be a good number.

I’ll say it again. Kudzu Thread is the final binding link to you, your gil, and your weaver reaching L70.

Grinding Weaver 64 to 66

You guessed it. Kudzu Thread. Even if you make too many, other Weavers out and about in this world will buy ’em to level up.

Important notes and events in this tier

Optional Rotation: L64 40DUR 1058DIFF

These were extremely hard at level 63~64! I TESTED THESE WITH A MINIMUM OF 934 CRAFTSMANSHIP (slightly above the gear check above). I suggest waiting until 65 to do any L64 “ingot” grinding.

Or I could be wrong in my notes – simply test it out first. If Name > Brand > Brand works for you, great. Waiting for the L65 shirt and Mainhand ensures this. Here’s the rotation:

/ac “Brand of Fire” <me> <wait.3>

THIS CERTAIN “MACRO” HAS NAME AND BRAND OF FIRE. PLEASE ADJUST IT TO YOUR CLASS. CUL AND WVR HAVE NO BRAND OR NAME SKILL SO CROSS CLASS ANY ONE OF ‘EM.

L64 80 Durability?

If you’re hellbent on crafting a 64 or 65 with the “base set” described above do so at your own risk. It’s VERY VERY doable using Maker’s Mark type rotations and manual crafting.

But like I said I WOULD ADVISE HOLDING OUT UNTIL L65! If you plan on crafting for any sort of grindlike activities, the shirt and weapon help loads.

At L65, we will be having the 80 Durability “end-all” rotation.

L65 WVR Class Quest

Rewards are Manipulation II, which is a great skill. Our rotations will be based around it at L66.

You also get an NQ Main hand weapon (sucky), and Kudzu tier left-side NQ (also meh). They’re NOT worth it.

But HQ versions? Hmm…

L65 Gear Update: Kudzu Shirt & Main Hand

HQ Kudzu Robe of Crafting (Cheap Meld: Control III+ x2)

This is a VALUE upgrade since it straight up annihilates our old shirt. It’s worth it. It also feels good buying this knowing all our classes can use it. The other left-side slots are technically optional.

HQ L65 MH: Dzo Horn Needle (Cheap Meld: OPEN / Any)

Can’t complain here. The HQ 65 main hand completely obliterates previous tiers BiS weapon.

After buying these upgrades, you are functionally equal, or superior, to Heavensward “BiS” crafters that spent millions pentamelding their gear. It’s both a happy and sad moment, as the circle of a crafters life continues…

THE REST OF THE KUDZU TIER IS OPTIONAL: It will make HQing easier with zero HQ materials. It’s completely up to you. I did NOT upgrade gear but it’s easy to see how you will benefit from them.

L65 Rotation Update: 80 Durability

This is a TEMPORARY ROTATION mainly to show you how to complete recipes of this difficulty onward. It will be updated to its final form in ONE LEVEL (66), so it’s up to you if you wanna learn this one. It’s very similar to it’s final evolution.

L66 Gear Update: Offhand

HQ Pine Spinning Wheel is a massive stat upgrade, and you should be buying or making one of these. If you want to meld it, Control III+.

L66 Unlocks Prudent Touch

Prudent Touch. Read it.

With Prudent Touch and Manipulation II,
we will now rise into godhood.
Read on.

Kuzdu All the Way?

AS A SIDE NOTE, FOR WEAVER, IF YOU PLAN ON NOT GRINDING ON ANYTHING ELSE (Valid, but some value is lost…) BUT KUDZU THREAD AND SUBMITTING THEM – YOU NEED NOT UPGRADE YOUR GEAR ONCE YOU CAN SEMI-RELIABLY HQ KUDZU THREAD.

But, I struggle to think that you cannot afford the other 3 WVR specific weapon upgrades compared to the benefits…

I don’t recommend it, but it’s an option.

Weaver Leveling 66 to 68

I’ll put it up here since it’s very important: The following rotations are “the final form” of both 40 and 80 durability crafts. You can use these “macros” to learn how to manual craft them.

L66+ “Obliterator Rotations”

L66+ 40DUR 'Annihilator'

L66+ 80DUR 'It that Destroys'

And this one will eradicate 80 durability recipes from now onwards.

While I can’t say I tested every niche “undergeared” scenario, this work of art CRUSHED every recipe at or near its level.

However...

I did not test these under all stress tests to prevent stupidity like “I have L62 main hand and L63 offhand and tried to craft L70 Ingot“. These recipes will carry you past certain gear upgrades at certain times. But don’t be greedy man, upgrade your damn gear to be safe.

I did not test these on recipes absurdly higher than my current level. Be responsible. They’re good rotations absolutely brimming with value but please… test it out first if you know you’re doing something dumb.

As long as your gear is up to date….the final mandatory gear upgrade is 67 main hand.

“Here… Now… Your ascendance is complete.”
– Mahiko “Deus Factorem” San

Leveling from here is mostly a formality, and it’s only a matter of time before you hit 70. Just a little more to go!

WVR 66 Levequest discussion

I refuse to discuss any of these as a viable levequest option. Serge Turban of Crafting is ahead of the others, but it’s still trash tier.

WVR 66 to 68: What I did in this tier

Just continue with the Kudzu Thread plan.

Well, you Kudzu something else this tier… grinding on Worsted Yarn and Dawn Serge is great if you have the materials from your retainers – but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy them up just to grind. You will be using Worsted Yarn and Dawn Serge for the foreseeable future of your Weaver. Process as many as you can while you’re leveling up.

The Obliterator rotations should give you a huge leg up HQ’ing from here on.

Grinding Weaver 66 to 68

Continuing with Kudzu Thread is fine. Worsted Yarns and Dawn Serge are okay if you have the mats.

Important notes and events in this tier

L66 Off Hand Weapon

For WVR, that would be Pine Spinning Wheel. HQ version of this is mandatory.

L67 Main Hand Weapon, Focused Synthesis

For WVR, that would be Gazelle Horn Needle. HQ version of this is mandatory.

L67 also unlocks Focused Synthesis, which is a damn good skill. I used it in many a fresh 70 rotation to “proc” Manipulation II in the latter end of progress.

L68 WVR Class Quest

The rewards are meh. You get a choice of any Tier V crafting materia, which is welcome, I guess. Choose whichever you need (honestly, CP is a good bet). Or what’s most expensive.

You also get the L68 NQ off-hand, which is pretty bad.

Finally, hitting 68 gives you Focused Touch, whose primary use is to squeeze one more touch unsupported by Steady Hand.

L68 Marid Leather Bolero? 68HQ Offhand?

L68 Marid Leather Bolero of Crafting HQ (Cheap melded with Competence III+ Command III+) I would say now it’s mandatory. It should spiritbond fast enough so you won’t feel too bad about it. I initially thought against it, but I’m gonna go ahead and recommend this.

L68 HQ Persimmon Spinning Wheel? Honestly, I didn’t bother and it didn’t affect me. At least we save one gear piece worth of upgrades.

Weaver Leveling 68 to 70

“There are two type of people who reach this hallowed place. Those who have Leves… And those who do not.”
– Mahiko “Did not” San.

How painful the final step is will largely depend on how FAST you clawed upwards. Having said that, if you took it easy and HAVE LEVES – abuse the living daylights out of them since they will serve you almost no purpose once your DoH levels are done.

WVR 68 Levequest discussion

Twinthreads and Twinsilk aren’t too expensive, but still – these levequests pale in comparison to the almighty Kudzu Thread.

Again, I refuse to discuss any of these as viable – they are all poor choices in comparison to good ‘ol Kudzu Thread.

WVR 68 to 70: What I did in this tier

Feel free to work on as many Twinsilk and Twinthreads as you can. They will be useful “forever” so there’s that. You can save some leves by grinding on those for a bit.

If you need any more exp to hit 70, you should be well and familiar with “Of Great Import” “Submit 3x HQ Kudzu Thread” by now.

Just a little more and you’ll string the last needle to victory, friend.

Grinding Weaver 68 to 70

Twinthreads, Twinsilk, Worsted Yarn and Dawn Serge are all legit since they will forever be relevant.

Important notes and events in this tier

This tiers materials are heavily used

So always check the market board for cheap mats. Whether it’s for red or yellow scrip, lots of crafters use the 68-70 tier materials so they should be abundant and fairly priced off the market board.

L68 Optional Upgrades: HQing is hard

As I mentioned previously, the 68 Main Hand is OPTIONAL.

With the “Obliterator Rotations” you should be doing very well still. However, do not think for one second that “100% HQ is possible from 0 HQ Mats”. That’s just silly, while leveling.

HQ raw materials in this tier are cheap since high level crafters don’t care about the quality of mats in this tier.

The first option is “Try to get 1/4th of your materials HQ”. So when you craft you have a slight advantage.

You want more consistency? It’s time for optional upgrades, then, which are the rest of the Marid Leather / Serge Tier.

L70 WVR Class Quest

The rewards are quite good. You get ALL Tier V crafting materia, as well as the Stroke of Genius trait.

The class quests are pretty decent, so there’s that. Aside from lore, the hype on reaching 70 is more of a relaxed “Finally…”

Weaver Level 70 and Beyond

Welp! That’s about it for Stormblood content! The grind is over – for now. Onto the L80 Shadowbringers tier!

  1. This is the Weaver’s leveling guide, but it says “Culinarian Leveling Guide”. I think a copy/pasta type occurred, JSYK.

  2. Greatly appreciated, but has no one noticed the title is CULINARIAN Leveling [sic] Guide?
I thought my search engine had a bug! ;)

  3. Spent too long trying to figure out what PDO stands for. Once I found the only other plausible reference via Google, I couldn’t believe that I had just wasted the time. For anyone wondering, PDO stands for “poor, desperate, or overcapped (this word was created by someone who doesn’t understand English well enough),” but please correct me if I am wrong. Despite this, I appreciate the guides tremendously.
    :)

  4. just a small note, the triple turn in on level 70 leves is “turban in training” not “lovely leggings”,you might want to make an edit :P

  5. [H][R] 3(9)x Woolen Smock: Triples are both sucky.
^ This has been changed and its 1 per instead of 3

It’s actually do-able either purchasing these armor from NPC or crafting yourself.

  6. Is the formatting for the 71-80 Shadowbringers section of Weaver a complete mess for anyone else?

None of the drop down sections with the + mark work (‘I’m desperate: yellow scrip gear?’ and ‘Cross-class skills’ for example) and the some of the mini sections with grey backgrounds seem empty, like the ‘Macro 1 Macro 2 Success Rates’ part. I’ve tried this site in multiple browsers and they all have the same problem, but the rest of the guide from 1-70 and the other jobs’ guides are fine.

  7. Good guides as always. The only suggestion I would throw out there for folks when they first hit 70 is to use the level 70 scrip (350) gear to start off. The gear is cheap enough and the custom deliveries will provide all of the scrips you could need for purchasing the gear. The stats are quite as good as the crafted gear listed in the guide, but close enough for a cheaper alternative (imho).

    1. This is correct! The yellow scrip gear has its own section, but I should make the point more “known”. I recommend the left-side and weapon if you can afford it.

  8. Hallu, thanks for the guide on Weaver. I just hit 55 on my Weaver and got the biggest value collectable. Ramie Cloth, which is easy af to craft. Basically as easy to collect as Birch Syrup for Culinarian. So yeah, there IS a good weaver collectable unexpectedly.

  9. Weaver Level 20 to 25

[L][R] 3(9)x Cotton Coif of Gathering: Highly recommended.
Do not recommend :( i just made 20 only to discover that the triple now only gives 5Kish exp where the singles give around 12-13K

  10. One thing that can salvage weaver is doing the Moogle beast tribe quests daily, they give roughly a half a level worth of exp at level 52 when you do all 3 plus it unlocks that beast tribe vendor.

  11. Heya,

nice guide, if I may say so, helped me alot :)

Just wanted to mention this, in the rotation-macro for the 40DUR Rotation, use:
    /ac “Master’s Mend”

It makes the rotation smoother, I know, is too short, but 3 is too long, 2.5 fits in perfectly and feels “better” to see it xD. It’s just a minor thing and not a “must”, but it has a better flow :)

  12. I have a couple of newbish questions and hopefully someone can answer them for me :D

    1. Why not use Waste Not II in the rotation instead of using Waste Not I? I mean I think I see why you use it and if its because you get more out of it then waste not II then ignore my question haha

    2. Also on your melds, I see cheap meld 1 and cheap meld 2. Is that meant for to be picked on wether you want cheap meld 1 or cheap meld 2 or is that what both sockets should be used for? I hope I was clear on that question. So if I used the first socket for cheap meld 1 would I use the next socket for cheap meld 2? If there isnt a socket then I should overmeld it? Just want to make sure I wasn’t over thinking this at all. Which I usually do!!

Thanks for an awesome site and great guides :D

    1. Waste not II isn’t bad, it’s just much easier to make a more flexible rotation with WN1. Cheapmeld 1 and 2 is for sockets! And yes if there isn’t a socket overmeld it. Remember to use frumenty for the +10cp while leveling to help reach the CP caps.

  13. What do the numbers in “Best?” mean? I can’t find anywhere what your model of reference is, so I don’t know which is the best option for each tier, if 3 or 1.

      1. On the 64 – 70 Section when you’re talking about the optional 64 rotation, there is still a mistake referring to WVR (not having the name of lightening skill) instead of ARM i am assuming.

        1. If you’re referring to the cross-class section, I admittedly have to choose ONE of the elements… but yes name/brands are interchangeable and I’ll have a look at what you’re sayin

          1. He’s reffering to the [Optional rotation Lv64 4oDUR]:

“THIS CERTAIN “MACRO” HAS NAME AND BRAND OF FIRE. PLEASE ADJUST IT TO YOUR CLASS. CUL AND WVR HAVE NO BRAND OR NAME SKILL SO CROSS CLASS ANY ONE OF ‘EM.”

Which is not true, WVR has brand/name of lightning, I think you mean GSM has none (and CUL).

And thanks for all the effort you put into this wonderful guide, I’ve been using it a lot!

  14. hey, i think most (if not all) of the shopping list items for the beginning of this guide can be bought from the generic material suppliers found in housing districts
so if your FC has a house with one of those merchants that might be a more convenient place to shop than running around between 3 npcs

  15. I managed to level from 56 to 60 in about 6 hours by handing in collectible ramie cloths. Perhaps not the fastest way but buying stalks of ramie and collecting my own flax only cost me about 60-70k to get those last 4 levels. Whilst using engineering manual II’s and food buffs.

      1. It’s in a newer patch. It only gives 10 blue scrip and 110k exp. But if you compare the prices of some of the leve items and mats, it’s a great value. Not sure if it’s Ramie Cloth all the time, but I can let you know!

  16. I’m not seeing a gear update still? That would be very helpful, I’m pretty (totally goddamn) lost when it comes to melds, I never had a 50 crafter pre-3.0, and my wvr is now 56 and still rocking a few 50 equips.

  17. I’m not sure if it’s fastest, but I found it really easy between 56-58 to spam the collectable for ramie cloth. Not only are the mats easily obtainable, it also gives scrips to start you off (to get the WVR masterbook for 58-60). Crawler silk is just too expensive on my server

  18. I followed all the steps to level Weaving from 1-15 and all it BARELY got me to level 14. I have no clue where you guys got this idea of your method getting someone to 15 LET ALONE 15++. Not only did I follow every step (including the scroll), but i also used an EXP helm from 1-11 and i ate and orange for another 3% EXP and still I was only able to just hit 14.

  19. I’m confused why you would go Holy Rainbow Apron for your 52-54 option? It requires 1 less Cloth and 1 less Wyvern leather, sure, but you have to make two of them for the hand in, and have to submit twice to get the same XP as the Holy Rainbow Sarouel of Casting, meaning 4 aprons (8 cloth 4 thread) vs 1 sarouel (3 cloth, 1 thread, 1 leather) for the same xp. Unless wyvern leather is prohibitively expensive and difficult to get for you, I can’t see why this would be the better option.

  20. In the tier 56 to 58 the hallowed ramie sash of casting is quite good on my server, because you get them from a npc quite cheap (11k Gil)
The mats for crawler silk and crawler silk itself is far too expensive (mats: 18k gil for 1!, Crawler Silk: 22k)

  21. The Ixal Deliverance quest is also a good thing to do daily. The quest itself doesn’t give much exp, but HQ item turn-ins do.

  22. I prefer to do the Leve “Felt for the Fallen” from 58 to 60. 198,778 exp for 3 Chimerical Felt. It will take 20 leve allowances and a total of 60 normal quality Chimerical Felt to go from level 59 to 60. A little less than double that for 58 to 60. I hate farming Deepeye Tears (I find the other mats trivial for the dissolvents) which is why I choose the leve over crafting any type of gear (collectable or not).

To help those who choice to do the healer or caster corsets: Mogpoms are 100% catch in the Greensward of Churning Mist (8,34) with Goblin Jig. (used in making Intellect Dissolvent). Flying is required to reach here. and you need to be 58FSH to use the Jig. Blue Cloud Coral is caught in “Cloudtop” fishing hole in Sea of Clouds (15,38). Level 51 Fishing, use a Red Balloon, turn on SNAGGING!!!

  23. Just gotta add. Since latest patch. Handing in 3 HQ items 3 Times only gives 100% bonus EXP. Courier quests are by far the faster (And cheaper) way of leveling now.

    1. 100% is truth across ALL leve types now. However, courier becomes extremely painful in the level 35+ range (no aetheryte)

  24. [C]ourier Leves: Levemete is from the [H]ometown, to be submitted to the [L]ocal Levemete. I’m confused on what that means. Read info below.

    Level 40 WVR Leves [L]ocation: Coerthas (Whitebrim) | Ul’dah
Level 40 Weaver Leves Items Discussion:

    [H][3] Linen Deerstalker

Where do I go to obtain that leve? I don’t see it in Whitebrim.

    1. Every tier has ONE levequest which ORIGINATE from (lets say in weavers example) Ul’dah, and is submitted to the level-specific levemete in another town. For example, Level 45 courier quests would take you from Uldah to St. Coincachs.

  25. For the first part you tell us the shopping list but don’t tell us what to make with it…what am I suppose to craft with those items?

    1. Below is a list of items needed to complete your crafting log from L1: Hempen Yarn – L15: Cotton Shepherd Slops.

      It’s above the list

  26. Just used this 1st part of the guide in patch 2.2 and I was already lvl 7, with the boos. After I finished wasn’t even close to lvl 15 :( about 13 and a half.. don’t think I did anything wrong. did I miss something?

    1. Nothing wrong. I just think this guide is out of date, or forgetting to mention something.

I found that increasing the quality of an item gave extra xp, so it’s something I did as soon as I could, but I still fell short of 15. I’m just QSing cotton yarn for the remaining level I’m missing.

        1. Dunno about earlier posters, but I just finished 1-15 craft logs and even did the first two crafts in the 15-20 log, all while using the GC Engineering Scroll, and making sure to go for as much HQ as I can on each and every craft… and it got me halfway through level 14.
Something is definitely up with the guide. =/

  27. Just noticed a typo – Quarrymill is in South Shroud and Costa del Sol is in Eastern La Nocsea. :)

    1. hmmm.. not a typo! It means there are [L]ocal leves in Quarrymill and Costa, and the [H]ome leves from Ul’dah are still available!

  28. Fleece only costs 41 gill each on my server now (about the same amount as the flax I bought when I was still leveling weaving a few months ago), thanks to overfarming and bots, so I guess weaving just became easier on my server, at least.

    1. Yes, fleece and diremite webs price have dropped since this writing! Is it a permanent thing? Something due to bots offloading for housing gil? I’ll wait a few days before i adjust this guide for that anomaly! :D

  29. In the 35-40 tier, I would say that the single turn in for Linen Cowl is cheaper than the triple Linen Tights. Sure the cowl is 4 cloth, but 3 Tights is 6 cloth. Also factor in that the Cowl is 40kish exps, vs. 23kish exps and really, the only thing you are saving by doing the triple turn in is leve allowances. if you have plenty of allowances saved up, then the Cowl is far more efficient.

    1. Because if you turn in HQ items that triple could give you 136k -ish XP for one leve. For the amount of XP you can get that is the better choice.
