Armorsmith Leveling Guide L90 to 100 – Dawntrail Tier

Welcome to my Armorsmith Leveling Guide L90 to 100 – Dawntrail tier. This tier is more exciting than most compared to recent ones! Contrary to popular belief, you can easily reach L100 Armorsmith with ONLY SCRIP (Artful Afflatus) GEAR, while NOT NEEDING FANCY FOOD BUFFS.

SCROLL TO: Levequests Reference | Gear, Prep, Notes
[90-92] [92-94] [94-96] [96-98] [98-100]

Any roadbumps ahead?

You can reach 100% HQ all the way until L98 Recipes while using the baseline scrip gear with the recommended melds below.

L98 ingots have 99% HQ, and L99 recipes need a single accessory upgrade OR a NPC buyable 37 gil Food Buff which I will explain later. A tiny price to pay, and it’s even optional really…

DoH Dawntrail Tier General Notes / Strategy

GC Submissions are, as usual, godly. These are vastly more powerful than the average levequest, and they don’t even use up an allowance. The bonus ones are especially juicy.

Custom Deliveries are also great, and even give you meaningful rewards. This of course only resets weekly, so use them wisely.

Levequests are your main source of EXP. Use them up before you consider doing anything else.

Collectables are always viable, and sometimes there are amazing ones which are on average “cheaper” than a levequest item. The EXP though is usually less than half of a levequest so this can hurt your wallet.

Grinding is OK, as long as you’re making stuff you can sell. “Ingots”, and other levequest items will always have demand! Get paid to level up! haha.

Food Buff / Manuals: 3% is 3%, and manuals are a welcome boost. These aren’t mandatory but by all means use them if you have ’em.

NO DAWNTRAIL BEAST TRIBE YET.

Wachumeqimeqi Quests? Kind of suck, EXP wise. While there’s a story, and that can be cool, the actual EXP PER ITEM is strangely BAD. It’s generally worse than a Collectable, even.

Equal leves – what else is there to say? Ingots require “more total crafts”, but they’re most likely cheaper…

The ARM L91 Collectable is Rarefied Mountain Chromite Alembic, you need 11.53 max collectability submissions to reach the next tier, L92. Each one gives 2335689 EXP at max collectability.

ARM 90-92, what to do this tier?

Not many options at this point, even more so with two of the leves being equal. Do whatevers cheaper, but the Ingots require extra crafting time since there’s three of ’em. Collectables if saving leves.

Cobalt Tungsten Alembic (Odd Instruments) is the “better levequest”, it needs only 7.29 Leves (HQ submission) to reach the next tier, ARM L96. As Compared to Cobalt Tungsten Ingot (Metal with Mettle) which needs 9.41 Leves (HQ submission). 4909520 XP vs. 3804860 XP (HQ submission).

Well, some variation here but not too exciting. A 4-component leve and and ingot leve isn’t the best of selections.

The ARM L95 Collectable is Rarefied Cobalt Tungsten Chocobo Frypan, you need 11.46 max collectability submissions to reach the next tier, L96. Each one gives 3122973 EXP at max collectability.

ARM 94-96, what to do this tier?

Either you do Cobalt Tungsten Alembic (or any of the L92 leves – the EXP diff in’t that huge.), or choose a budget ingot leve of this tiers Cobalt Tungsten Ingots, or the L90 ingots. The Alembic is the “best leve” so far by a small margin only – so don’t sweat choosing something else.

ARM 96-98, what to do this tier?

Well, if you’re after value per levequest look no further than Titanium Gold Thornplate of Fending. It’s SIGNIFICANTLY more EXP than any levequest that precedes it. It’s basically this, or “anything else”. Try your best to manage it.

SCROLL TO: [Leves, Prep] [90-92] [92-94] [94-96] [96-98] [98-100]

Warning: There’s a tiny bit of a roadbump ahead.

Armorsmith Leveling 98 to 100

Before proceeding: If you plan on crafting L99 Recipes you need to do EITHER one of these two things:

Recommended: Craft a SINGLE non-ring Acacia DoH accessory, and Meld it with at least 11 CP. (ONE OF: Acacia Earrings, Acacia Necklace, or Acacia Bracelet, and any melds that total to +11 CP).

Other solution: Buy “Stone Soup” food buff from the Gold Saucer Tapkeep. It gives 17 CP. It only costs like 37 gil each. I don’t like this since you might forget the food buff.

If you only plan to craft L98 recipes, you don’t need to use the above,
the macros still work for L98 Recipes.

Rotation Update L98/99 Armorsmith Recipes

Two new rotations here, L98/99 recipes which (if using on 99) needs the preparation above. There’s an HQ for 40 DUR as well, but it’s only 99% HQ, lol. Close enough right? But I doubt you’ll ever NEED it.

L98/99 80 DUR A/B

Level 98/99 80 Durability Rotation (100% HQ)

This TWO PART rotation allows you to craft L98 and 99 ARM recipes 100% HQ (with L99 needing the preparation above). The macro works with L98 without needing the prep.

You NEED to be L98 to pull this off, as you need the

  1. Regarding the Lvl 76 Macro Update: I think I’ll stick to the L74 Macro as the little update is too unreliably for lower recipies than L76 if you follow the gearing update at Lvl 71. It finishes the craft before the quality step is finished.
Otherwise many many thanks and much love tou you creating and sharing all these wonderful leveling guides for DoH/DoL. It’s a huge boost for me. <3

  2. Just wanted to throw it out there that you can buy the Titanium Tassets of Fending from Zundu Sell-It in Sea of Clouds for 11,008 gil, just in case you have the extra cash on hand to throw at it rather than have to deal with all the crafting.

  3. For me, it seems the best way to get 56-60 is by doin collectible’s.

Titanium nuggets are 100k a turnin, wich translates the same as the leve’s more or less.

Leveled GSM the same way, and u can go up really quickly provided u have the materials.

Also, if you fail to achieve 250 collectible..your still able to turn them in as a leve.

  4. I’ve hit 56 on armorer yesterday and got to 58 today in about 3 hours. Since I have a miner so I’ve spent an hour gathering all mats and grind on Titanium Nuggets for collectible turn in and use commercial scrolls to boost exp, with rested exp, I net about 33K per nugget. So for 20 nuggets turn in I got roughly 2.9mil exp, it didn’t take that long imo. From 56-60 you would need about 12mil exp so it comes down to 80-90 nuggets, not to mention if you’re doing Moogle beast tribe and daily GC, it will fasten up the process.

  5. Hi,
Armorer is my second skill im (serious) leveling. Since my GSM is maxed out i used the Mythril ingot leve from the 35-40 tier all the way to lvl 45 or so since its easy-peasy to HQ them as lvl 60 GSM. Fastest way to get past those lvls IMO

  6. Well between lv25-30 you don’t recommend to do leve Heavy Iron Flanchard but I disagree with you. I could make HQ Heavy Iron Flanchard at lv26 which I get another 100% exp extra when I turn in (55k in 1 allowance). Consider allowance are based on time I recommend to use it wisely.

It cost more materials and money to make but if you stockpiled iron ingots (HQ) and Aldgoat leather it’s worth the exp based on allowance. I recommend this is the fastest way to reach lv30.

But overall I love your site!!

    1. Yep courier is a good choice if you’re short on leves. As a general rule people who swim in leves wouldn’t mind the speed of singles.

    1. If leves are SCARCE to you, then it’s not recommended. Doing the crafting log + GC scroll EXP should bring you up. However, as stated above, the “courier + reverse courier” would be the most leve-efficient choice.

  7. Not sure if it’s changed but the Level 50 Armorer turn in quest is a Cobalt Haubergeon with a Heaven’s Eye Materia III.
