Ixal Beast Tribe Daily Quests: Bonus Crafting/DoH EXP !

At L15+, the time is ripe to start doing these! The main purpose why I push for this is –

SAVING LEVEQUESTS!!!!
They’re valuable while leveling crafters!

Starting Quest: A Bad Bladder
NPC & Location: Scarlet at New Gridania (9, 11)
Prerequisite MSQ: Pursuit of the Past

These dailies are best used to push past “bad tiers”, or simply on your highest level non 50 crafter. I suppose you can also use them on crafting classes which are lagging behind for one reason or the other.

Armorsmith Level 15 to 20

L15 ARM Class Quest Item: Decorated Bronze Barbut, Bronze Buckler
L15 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Aleport | Limsa
L15 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H] 1x Iron Cuirass: Plates + Rings = laziness.
[H] 1x Decorated Bronze Barbut: Precursor, avoid.
[C] 1x Initiate’s Skillet: Recommended due to high EXP.
[RC] 1x Initiate’s Alembic: Recommended due to high EXP.
[L] 1x Iron Gauntlets: Plates + Rings = laziness.
[L] 1x Iron Hoplon: The lesser evil.

At level 11 (Maybe 15? Please correct me if I’m wrong) you can create a BUNCH of Iron Plates, Iron Rivets & Iron Rings. It’s a great source of EXP and you’ll be using them in the tiers to come. COMPLETED Iron Ingots can be purchased from Housing Vendors and Amaljaa!

The above trend repeats in many tiers in the future. Keep this in mind.

Courier  <-> Reverse Courier cycle: See what I’m saying about plates and rivets (rings)? I’m going to say it early and often, that grinding on basic materials is something you should make a habit of.

Or the best single: Iron Hoplon. ehh.. none of the singles are really good. Hoplon is just slightly easier since you can buy the lumber from ARM supplier. Stick to C-RC

Armorsmith Level 20 to 25

L20 ARM Class Quest Item: Iron Hoplon (Materia-Enhanced)
L20 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Quarrymill | Limsa
L20 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H][R] 3x(9) Ironclad Bronze Buckler: Precursor!
[H] 1x Iron Lantern Shield: Decent…
[C] 1x Iron Frypan: Possibly Cheapest.
[L][R] 3x(9) Iron Celata: Best triple this tier, but still sucks.
[L] 1x Iron Vambraces: Got cheap Aldgoat Leathers? This is best, then.
[L] 1x Iron Alembic: Plate / Rivets.

Level 20 signals the death of “Reverse Courier” and the beginning of “Triples”, these leves are thrice repeatable and provide the best EXP per levequest (by a small margin). They also technically help you in terms of EXP for manually crafting more items. While time consuming, sometimes triples really are the best choice in certain tiers.

Courier: Iron Frypan is probably the cheapest option and gives the highest EXP per turn – in so I guess you should suck it up and do the time travelling with this courier.

Triples: While this tier welcomes in the triples, this tier sucks. Celata or nothin’.

Singles: Honestly, all are equally bad – but depending on how much you followed the GRINDING METHOD I’ve kept repeating, these shouldn’t be a problem. Alembic or Vambraces here.

Exiting the L20 tier is the equivalent to the beginning of the wilds in terms of DoH leveling. Welcome to the “real part”.

Armorsmith Level 25 to 30

L25 ARM Class Quest Item: (HQ) Steel Ingot
L25 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Quarrymill | Limsa
L25 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H][R] 3(9)x Steel Tassets: The best triple this tier (slimly).
[H] 1x Steel Ingot: Best single & overall leve this tier.
[C] 1x Heavy Iron Flanchard: Avoid if possible.
[L][R] 3(9)x Steel Chainmail: Haha.
[L] 1x Conical Alembic: Precursor. No.
[L] 1x Heavy Iron Armor: Lesser evil.

Bomb Ash is required for steel can be purchased from Kobold Vendor if you’ve unlocked it.

Singles: Steel Ingot is mega value. I mean… look at all the other choices. They’re comically bad compared to this leve. If you’re having a hard time HQing these… man… Heavy Iron Armor is the closest full craft I’d painfully recommend.

Courier: Heavy Iron Flanchard, while sucky, is still a courier leve and gives massive EXP, so there is some merit in considering this… maybe after your grindfest?

Triples: Man.. if you’re so bent on using triples this tier – Steel Tassets may only slimly be better than Steel Chainmail. Even if I say it’s the best triple this tier, it doesn’t mean it ain’t painful.

Overall, the sheer value of Steel Ingot is too much to pass up. Just do it. Don’t let dreams be dreams.

Also, you can start/end this tier by making a bunch of Steel Ingots, Plates and Rings just to beef up your stockpile, gain EXP and help with future crafts.

Armorsmith Level 30 to 35

L30 ARM Class Quest Item: (HQ) Steel Chainmail
L30 ARM Leves [L]ocation: Costa Del Sol | Limsa
L30 ARM Leves Items Discussion:

[H][R] 3(9)x Steel-plated Jackboots: “best” triple this tier.
[H] 1x Bull Hoplon: Not so bad.
[C] 1x Decorated Buckler: Precursor…
[L][R] 3(9)x Steel Sabatons: Too many mats.
[L] 1x White Skillet: Pretty cheap.
[L] 1x Steel Elmo: Plates & Rivets

Courier: Decorated Buckler, this is kinda sucky. But again, if the value of a courier doesn’t discourage you, by all means. It’s worth sucking it up, since this is the last of the “fast courier” tier.

Singles: White Skillet is your best bet if spamming singles. Hoplon > Elmo, but I don’t think they should be in consideration.

Triples: Both suck, but Steel-plated Jackboots a little less so. I wouldn’t recommend doing triples in this tier unless you’re REALLY SHORT ON LEVES.

I’d summarize this tier as White Skillet as the default and Decorated Buckler if you have the patience. I’d skip thinking of triples if at all possible.

Whenever you can, make sure you have a healthy stockpile of Mythril Ingot, Plate and Rings and Rivets to grind it up a bit, and give yourself a stockpile before proceeding.

  1. Regarding the Lvl 76 Macro Update: I think I’ll stick to the L74 Macro as the little update is too unreliably for lower recipies than L76 if you follow the gearing update at Lvl 71. It finishes the craft before the quality step is finished.
Otherwise many many thanks and much love tou you creating and sharing all these wonderful leveling guides for DoH/DoL. It’s a huge boost for me. <3

  2. Just wanted to throw it out there that you can buy the Titanium Tassets of Fending from Zundu Sell-It in Sea of Clouds for 11,008 gil, just in case you have the extra cash on hand to throw at it rather than have to deal with all the crafting.

  3. For me, it seems the best way to get 56-60 is by doin collectible’s.

Titanium nuggets are 100k a turnin, wich translates the same as the leve’s more or less.

Leveled GSM the same way, and u can go up really quickly provided u have the materials.

Also, if you fail to achieve 250 collectible..your still able to turn them in as a leve.

  4. I’ve hit 56 on armorer yesterday and got to 58 today in about 3 hours. Since I have a miner so I’ve spent an hour gathering all mats and grind on Titanium Nuggets for collectible turn in and use commercial scrolls to boost exp, with rested exp, I net about 33K per nugget. So for 20 nuggets turn in I got roughly 2.9mil exp, it didn’t take that long imo. From 56-60 you would need about 12mil exp so it comes down to 80-90 nuggets, not to mention if you’re doing Moogle beast tribe and daily GC, it will fasten up the process.

  5. Hi,
Armorer is my second skill im (serious) leveling. Since my GSM is maxed out i used the Mythril ingot leve from the 35-40 tier all the way to lvl 45 or so since its easy-peasy to HQ them as lvl 60 GSM. Fastest way to get past those lvls IMO

  6. Well between lv25-30 you don’t recommend to do leve Heavy Iron Flanchard but I disagree with you. I could make HQ Heavy Iron Flanchard at lv26 which I get another 100% exp extra when I turn in (55k in 1 allowance). Consider allowance are based on time I recommend to use it wisely.

It cost more materials and money to make but if you stockpiled iron ingots (HQ) and Aldgoat leather it’s worth the exp based on allowance. I recommend this is the fastest way to reach lv30.

But overall I love your site!!

    1. Yep courier is a good choice if you’re short on leves. As a general rule people who swim in leves wouldn’t mind the speed of singles.

    1. If leves are SCARCE to you, then it’s not recommended. Doing the crafting log + GC scroll EXP should bring you up. However, as stated above, the “courier + reverse courier” would be the most leve-efficient choice.

  7. Not sure if it’s changed but the Level 50 Armorer turn in quest is a Cobalt Haubergeon with a Heaven’s Eye Materia III.
