Leves to next tier? The number of HQ submit levequests you need to reach the next “tier” (IE 80 to 82, 82 to 84)
Gear, Strategy, ETC
The gear you want is the Landsaint tier – bought at The Crystarium for scrips. Right by the aetheryte, then go to Scrip vendor under Crafter > Handsaint Gear (IL500).
The universal pieces below give more bang for your buck, but you’ll need to shell out for the class specific weapon and off-hand.

Leveling DoH has always been, “The slower you go – the cheaper and easier it will be”. Since you have many sources of burst exp.
Custom Deliveries – extremely cheap and extremely powerful, but only reset weekly. Use these when you feel like the current tier is a pain!
Loporrit Beast Tribe – Easy, cheap and great EXP. Resets daily.
GC Submissions – daily, and give a gigaton of EXP, far outweighs levequests. Maximize these as long as you can!
Levequests – your “main” source of EXP. Not infinite, but this is considered the “Standard Baseline” of DoH EXP gains. Gotta balance between the EXP of the levequest vs your budget.
Collectables – The “lower end” of EXP gains, but the upside is you can do them infinitely. The EXP per Gil ratio here is by far the worse, but sometimes you gotta do them to get little bits of EXP here and there. Always look out for “bargains”. Typically, the cost of a collectible is its main factor as the EXP different doesn’t really matter since you can spam them.
Grinding – great to just gain EXP and Gil, since you can easily sell levequest items, or other “ingots” (leathers). Great for “afk” play.
Food buff gives 3% EXP, so try to have it on!

Make sure you use these new rotations!
ALC L80 Initial Rotations
While the 80 Durability Rotation “needs” to be updated later at 86, (and another recipe is needed for ONLY L89 recipes), the 40 Durability Rotation can be used during the whole leveling process.
Limitation: Do not try to craft “too high compared to your level” with this. +2 Levels should be fine, but why even try… Just stick to the things in your tier. This is a pretty basic TRUE 100% “Mahiko San Tricks” rotation. Meaning, it will never ever land a Poor on Byregot’s.

This one I’m proud of, it’s a TRUE 100% “Mahiko San Tricks” rotation that WORKS ON EVERY ENDWALKER 40 DUR (while leveling up). It accounts for the oddly levelled L85 ALC “ingots” (Moon Gel, Sungold Firesand), and works on pre-86 Groundwork trait.
It has ONE fail case – crafting WAY above your level. So be careful making
Moon Gel 85, when you’re like L81 (but it works at 82)

Gaja Grimoire (Nearly Bare) is the “better levequest”, it needs only 4.49 Leves (HQ) to reach the next tier, ALC L82. As Compared to Enchanted High Durium Ink (Wishful Inking) which needs 8.39 Leves (HQ). 1,355,750 XP vs. 724,620 XP.
Grimoire is “expensive” with mega EXP.
But the Ink is a good gil saving option!
Alchemist’s collectable in the L80 tier is Rarefied Gajaskin Codex. Needs 11.53 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1055241 EXP at max collectability.
Making “books” for Collectables seems bad. If you need non-leve EXP, look to your burst EXP sources unless desperate.
ALC L80 tier – what to do
Your path is pretty laid out for you here! Use the stronger levequest if you can afford it, and the cheaper one if you need to. I highly advise AGAINST COLLECTABLE.

Like last tier, you have one godly “expensive” one, and a budget option!
Alchemist’s collectable in the L82 tier is Rarefied Luncheon Toadskin Grimoire. Needs 11.48 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1232055 EXP at max collectability.
Making “books” for Collectables seems bad. If you need non-leve EXP, look to your burst EXP sources unless desperate.
ALC L82 tier – what to do
Same advice as last tier, but using this tiers leves. “Do the stronger leve if you can afford it, before considering budget – avoid collectables!”

One chunky EXP, one budget option.
Alchemist’s collectable in the L84 tier is Rarefied Moon Gel. Needs 11.46 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1417077 EXP at max collectability.
Oh. a potential banger. It CAN be cheap, and its VASTLY SUPERIOR to every other previous Collectable. If you wanna save leves, and this is cheap, go for it.
ALC L84 tier – what to do
Ohhh, the introduction of Rarefied Moon Gel Collectable is a game changer. You can even potentially spam this all the way to 90 if the price is good! Definitely keep this in mind to conserve leves AND maybe even gil!
Otherwise, same advice applies… There’s a strong and a weak cheaper leve…

Rotation update for L86+ 80 Durability recipes…
L86 Rotation Update (80 Durability only)
This rotation is future proof up to L88, and is still TRUE 100% “Mahiko San Tricks” up to that point. It’s also shorter! L86 gives a trait that buffs Groundwork, so we have to use that instead of the double Synthesis going forward.

Alchemist’s collectable in the L86 tier is Rarefied Enchanted Manganese Ink. Needs 11.51 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1629459 EXP at max collectability.
This is potentially GREAT, if Petalouda Scales are cheap? Seems like a banger collectable that you might be able to spam! Save leves by doing this, or the previous tiers Rarefied Moon Gel.
ALC L86 tier – what to do
Now with both Rarefied Moon Gel and Rarefied Enchanted Manganese Ink as potential collectables – you will likely find a collectable cheap and suitable for you! You can just straight up avoid levequests if you want to from here…
But if you do plan on Leves – you’ve heard the same advice many times now. Chunk vs Slim levequest – only budget matters.

There’s a rotation you need for SPECIFICALLY L89 recipes!!!
L89 Rotation (ONLY FOR L89 RECIPES)
This is ONLY USED FOR L89 RECIPES. The previous ones will fail to synthesize. Even without tricks, “supposedly” this is still True 100% (without Tricks). If it isn’t I’d still say this is 99%+.

Ophiotauroskin Magitek Codex (Technically Still Magic) is the “better levequest”, it needs only 4.63 Leves (HQ) to reach the next tier, ALC L90. As Compared to Grade 5 Tincture of Mind (Mindful Study) which needs 7.12 Leves (HQ). 2,297,800 XP vs. 1,494,330 XP.
Once more… we have one “book”, and one “simple item” representing chunky and budget respectively.
Alchemist’s collectable in the L88 tier is Rarefied Draught. Needs 11.49 Leves to reach the next tier as an easy way to compare to Leves). Gives 1853298 EXP at max collectability.
Yet another potential option in the mix! Between this, Moon Gel, and Ink, there’s even less reason to choose levequests. Between these three theres surely a good cheap option.
ALC L88 tier – what to do
Finally, you have Rarefied Draught – a third “potentially great / cheap” option. Between this and the previous two collectables, you’re surely gonna find something “cheap”.

Can rotations please be updated to reflect skills that no longer exist, as well as new ones, etc (I.e. Comfort Zone).
Only Stormblood tier rotations are not updated. This is very high on my list of to-do’s
It would be nice if all these levequest list included the locations of where the levequests are.

Hello! Just a heads up: I am currently doing the Lanolin leves in Whitebrim, and the number has been reduced to 1 lanolin per delivery, making it a 3 craft triple-leve; which is basically *amazing*.
72-74 Make it bigger is gliderskin grimoire not codex
I’d like to add something to help out other people who plans to grind out lvl 15-25 using leves. It’s late I know.
For level 15-25 leves, Ash Wand can be bought from the Merchant & Mender in Central Shroud, whereas the Budding Ash Wand can be bought from the same kind of NPC in East Shroud.
I’m not sure where to leave this – there doesn’t seem to be any help or support section – but I can’t click to open any of the clickboxes in most (all?) of these leveling guides. I was able to a couple days ago. It’s not working for other friends I’ve asked to try, either. A little frustrating; I can’t see the macro recommendations anymore, among other things. This website has always been so great to help with leveling jobs, could someone look into fixing this?

I have been following this guide and have gotten to 64 very easily but I have a small problem…
When I go to the page for 64-70 none of the drop down menus work! I don’t know if it’s just me but I checked on 3 different browsers and had a friend even try. All the other pages work just fine. Kinda bummed because I wanted to see what to get gear wise and what cross skills I’m supposed to “FIX UP” but I can’t.
Looking forward to getting on with my progession and your answer!

I have noticed that some of your quotation marks for the macros do not copy+paste well into FFXIV. I have to edit every single one in order to use them. I’m NA, so not sure if it’s different in the EU/JP locale? Not a big deal, but if you care, there it is. :)

Are you referring to the skills with one word? Skills with only one word do not need a quotation mark – if there are others, lemme know!
At least the 71 ALC macros were posted with smart punctuation, which the NA version apparently chokes on. Wasn’t hard to fix with a bit of search and replace in a text editor, but still confusing at first.
Damn I swear i tested this more than once – I replaced them with plain “” and plain text… will look into it again

The NPC name is misspelled. It should be “Wiltwaek”.

I know it’s early on in the class, but the materials for Roof Tiles are not all available from the Alchemy supplier. They don’t sell Straw (but you can take a quick Aethernet jaunt to the Weaver’s guild that does).
Here’s a suggestion if you’re lazy like me, when you first get palace of the dead you need to spam that because it gives you HQ potions with needing to buy and it also lvls up your class for attacking so it’s a win win situation.
It’s Growth Formula Zeta not Growth Formula Theta for the level 58 levequest.

Know this is old at this point, but level 68 leve for Palladium Ink is 3 ink total for 1 turn-in
(15-20 range) Ash Branches actually aren’t purchased from the Guild Supplier, only their logs are. But I heard something about unlocking materials…? It’s not there at-level, at least.
You can actually purchase from Ferreol (Carpenters’ Guild Supplier) and Material Suppliers.
Just wanted to throw this out there,
Lv30 Alchemist LeveQuest (Just Give Him a Serum), actually gives a little more EXP compared to the other Singles of the Lv35 Alchemist LeveQuest tier.
Just Give Him a Serum (47.8k EXP for NQ / 95.6k EXP for HQ)
Majority of Singles at Lv35 only gives roughly 41k EXP for NQ (with the exception of the Wand).
So IMO, I think it should also be in that tier considering the amount of EXP it gives and how easy the recipe is.
at lvl 56 you can spam hardsilver ink collectables for cheap and fast exp, got to 60 in 2 hours and made enough blue scrips for my books
You should specify on if the items for class quests need to be High Quality or not
Yes they should be HQ because even for class quests, if you turn in an HQ item it will give you DOUBLE the XP
53 ALC quest is HQ Enchanted Mythrite Ink (x3)
55 ALC quest is HQ Bottles of Grade 1 Intelligence Dissolvent (x3)
58 ALC quest is HQ Draconian Potion of Strength (x1)

You might want to update the level-30-35 range that you can make Growth Formula Gamma with NPC bought materials… its just that you have to unlock them first…!
